Juan Barrera

Born in Colombia and raised in New York, Juan brings grit, humility, and transformation to everything he does. After 15 years in the automotive industry as a technician, working in both dealership and independent shops, he hit a wall. Tired of feeling unappreciated and stuck, he packed up and moved to Florida to start his own shop.

He quickly realized that fixing cars and running a business were two very different things. With no prior experience in ownership, he turned to coaching and grew his six-bay shop from $8K to $40K a month. The real breakthrough came in early 2018 when he joined Shop Fix Academy. By fully implementing the systems and guidance, Juan scaled to over $200K/month and, more importantly, reclaimed his time, balance, and freedom.

Now a Shop Fix coach, Juan is passionate about helping other shop owners push past their plateaus and find both business success and personal fulfillment. He brings a no-excuses mindset, sharp operational focus, and deep empathy for the journey. Outside the shop, Juan enjoys traveling with his family, working out, road cycling, and swimming. One of his favorite mottos is: "What got us here won’t get us there" — a constant reminder to keep growing and evolving.
